I have been a stay-at -home Mom for just over a month now and it has been mostly great… with some moments of pure frustration. I love not having to wake them up at 6:30 in the morning to get them to the dayhome before work. I love taking them on little adventures and having picnic lunches. I love when they play nicely together and I get to relax with a warm cup of tea and Pinterest on the ipad. But… these wonderful moments do not last forever!! In a flash the nice playing has turned to screaming, fighting and, inevitably, Robyn crying. Then there is the constant nagging about wanting to watch TV or play games on the ipad. And the worst time of day… 4PM when the kids are tired, hungry, whiny, and just want Dad to come home.
Jason asks if I am ready to go back to work yet, and I answer, “No!”. A bad day at home with the kids is better than any day at work! I have found that the key to my happiness at home is enjoying the little moments each day brings. Like Casey singing his favorite songs on the radio and Robyn dancing her heart out. Watching how much they have improved in their gymnastics classes or listening to them play pretend hospital. It makes me laugh and cry at the same time and wish I could preserve these moments in my memory forever. I am trying my best to document these little moments in my photobooks, but it still doesn’t seem to be enough.
How do you keep track of your family’s memories? Any words of advice?
