Welcome to Birdwing Paper Design and the April Artisan Design Team blog hop! Once again we are delighted to work with more products from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalogue by Stampin’ Up!.
For this month’s blog hop, the team is mixing and matching the Country Club Suite (#153930) and the Mountain Air Bundle (#153820).
When I first saw these two bundles together, I had so many ideas running through my head! For this blog hop, I wanted to give the cards a lot of colour and use the product in an unconventional way.
Each card used the same 5 blue colours for the background (Seaside Spray, Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana, and Bermuda Bay) along with stamps from the Mountain Air Bundle. The layers on top of the background, including the stamps and embellishments, were all from the Country Club Suite.
The first card was created with an ink blended and tree stamped background. The large golfer was stamped and embossed in black on vellum and contrasts nicely with the blue. I kept the Country Club Elements in their original form as I loved the natural, wooden look of them.
The second card used the moon stamp from Mountain Air to create a simple polka dot background. The Happy Birthday stamp was layered on a piece of vellum that was embossed with the Absolutely Argyle 3D Embossing Folder. I also used several of the round wood elements to finish the card off.
The final card had a striped, watercolour background with mountains stamped on the diagonal. I decided to let the background be the focus and just added a few embellishments and a greeting.
It’s good practice to mix and match Stampin’ Up! products from different sets as it challenges your creativity and encourages you to use those products in unique ways. I hope you try to combine the Mountain Air stamps with the Country Club Suite to come up with new creations of your own!

So lovely! I like the way you’ve black embossed on to vellum for the golfer image. Not only is it striking on its own but it lets the image take on the colours in the background. Love the ink blended and stamped background. 🙂

Thanks, Jan! Originally I was going to emboss the golfer in white, but it is so much nicer in the dark black!

I love your projects! I especially love how you used the “moon” shape for a completely different use. What a great card. I also love the repeating mountains on an angle with all those different colors. Such “out of the box” cards. So creative and awesome!
