Welcome to Birdwing Paper Designs!! Each month I share creative projects with the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team. This month, the team is sharing fall and holiday projects using product from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue: Sparkle of the Season Bundle, Gorgeous Leaves Bundle, and Painted Christmas Suite.

This month I had the opportunity to work with the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle, Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP, and Bark 3D Embossing Folder.

For these fall projects, I created a card and gift box with a special theme in mind… celebrating a birthday… because today, Sept 17, is my birthday!!

The card I made for this project featured some classic fall colours: Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, Rich Razzleberry, and Blackberry Bliss.

The background splatter stamp was inked up with Bumblebee and then a light wash of Rich Razzleberry was painted directly onto the bottom part of the stamp to create a watercolour look with colour gradient. The yellow and purple leaves were die cut from the coordinating Intricate Leaves Dies and stamped with a pattern in the same colour as the cardstock. I also added a die cut gold branch for a little shine!
The textured frame on the outside was made with the Bark 3D Embossing Folder with the centre cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Dies. It adds a nice focal point for the colourful leaves in the centre!
The greeting was from the Create With Friends stamp set and was stamped in Blackberry Bliss on Cinnamon Cider card stock. This greeting best describes how I feel on my birthday so I had to use it!! To finish the card off with a little bit more gold, I used the Brushed Metallic Dots.

The gift box is a beautiful way to send a friend a small present! I used the Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes dressed up with one of the designs from the Blackberry Bliss DSP. I simply laid the box on the paper, traced it in pencil, cut it out, and glued the paper using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

After letting the glue dry, gently assemble the box so as to not damage the patterned paper.

Now the gift box is ready to be decorated! I used another strip of DSP to wrap around the box and added the left over embossed rectangle from the card above. Gold Shimmer Ribbon and die cut leaves were also used to make it look pretty! And finally, I added a gold embossed “Celebrate” (also from Create With Friends stamp set) to a Tailor Made tag. This is such a gorgeous way to dress up a plain box!!

The Gorgeous Leaves Bundle works so beautifully with the Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP and Bark 3D Embossing Folder for all kinds of fall projects. If you would like to purchase any of the products used in this post, please visit my Stampin’ Up! Store to order or contact me for more info.
