Welcome to Birdwing Paper Designs!! Each month I share creative projects I have made as a member of the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team. This month, the team is sharing holiday inspired projects using gorgeous holiday stamps and paper from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue: Whimsy and Wonder Suite, Merriest Moments Bundle, and Words of Cheer Bundle.

This month I was excited to get started on a few Christmas projects (a card and two gift tags) using the Merriest Moments Bundle.

The bundle consists of the Merriest Moments stamp set, Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder, and coordinating dies. The hybrid embossing folder is a combo of embossing + die cutting and offers a variety of combinations to create different looks:
1. Embossing folder only.
2. Embossing folder + outline die.
3. Embossing folder + detailed die.
4. Embossing folder + detailed die + stitched inner frame.

The card I made with this bundle used the second combination, hybrid embossing folder and the outline die, with Soft Succulent cardstock. I layered it on an Evening Evergreen card base that was stamped with White Craft Ink “greenery”. The large flowers were stamped in black and die cut, while the small flowers were die cut from Red Foil Sheets. The silver Metallic Mesh Ribbon was added under the greeting for a little sparkle and the card was finished off with my favourite gems, From My Heart Faceted Gems.

To highlight the details of the embossing folder, I used a Sponge Dauber to add a hint of White Craft Ink to the raised areas of embossed card stock. It really makes the image pop!

I also made two tags that coordinated with the Christmas card using the Tailor Made Tags Dies. The first tag, in Soft Succulent, was stamped with the “JOY” stamp several times in Evening Evergreen to give an ombre look. This time the large flowers were stamped in Cherry Cobbler and given a Red Foil flower center. The second tag used an edge of the embossed and die cut Evening Evergreen image along with the beautiful red flowers and a simple greeting.
