Welcome to Birdwing Paper Designs!! Each month I share creative projects I have made as a member of the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team. This month, the team is sharing even more holiday inspired projects with the following products: Peaceful Place Suite, Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite, and Bright Baubles Bundle

For this month’s projects, I couldn’t wait to play around with some of the festive products in the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite. I used the Frosted Gingerbread Bundle, Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP, Adorning Designs Decorative Masks, and Kraft Paper.

With these gorgeous products I made two Christmas cards: a snow globe shaker card and a gingerbread cookie slim card!

The first idea I had when I saw this set was to make a peppermint snow globe shaker card. It is kind of a mock snow globe in that I simply cut a circle out of the 5.25″ x 4″ kraft paper and added a patterned paper base to make it look like the basic shape of a snow globe. To add a bit of shadow on the base, I also added a sliver of Early Espresso paper underneath.
I used a Basic White card base and laid the kraft over top so I had a guide for stamping the peppermint background in the circle. And then I created a basic shaker with Stampin’ Seal+, Window Sheet and Foam Adhesive Strips on the back of the Kraft Paper. Before adhering it to the card base, I added stamped and die cut peppermints (Real Red, Just Jade, Pool Party, Old Olive) and a few Gingerbread & Peppermint Acrylic Shapes. I then finished it off with a multicolour greeting, Real Red Mini Ruffled Ribbon, and few more peppermints. I love how interactive the shaker cards are!!

The Kraft Paper had a subtle stripe pattern added to it by using an Adorning Designs Decorative Mask and spritzing it with White Craft Stampin’ Ink mixed in rubbing alcohol. It added just the right amount of detail to the card!

The Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP has so many yummy looking cookies on it and I wanted to use all of the different cookie shapes on one card! After cutting them out I realized a standard card wasn’t going to be long enough and upgraded to a slim line card. I used an Early Espresso card base (8″ x 3.5″) and another piece of spritzed Kraft Paper, but this time with a snowflake pattern. I arranged all the cookies in a line and sprinkled some peppermint around. This card really gets me in the mood for doing some Christmas baking!!

The Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite has become on of my favourite holiday sets of all time!! If you would like to purchase any of the products used in this post, please visit my Stampin’ Up! Store to order or contact me for more info.
