Hi there! I’m Leah and welcome to Birdwing Paper Designs!! Can you believe it is mid December already and this is our last set of projects as the 2021 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team!! The year went by so fast, but don’t worry, I will be back for another year on the 2022 team!!

This month we are sharing a variety of projects made from Inspired Thoughts Bundle, Peaceful Deer Bundle, and Bloom Where You Are Planted Suite. I was so happy to get to work with one more holiday set, Peaceful Deer Bundle, for December! The bundle comes with the Peaceful Deer stamp set and the Deer Builder Punch.

For a change from the traditional Christmas colours that I have been using for the last two months, I decided to go with soft, winter colours to create two holiday cards.

The first card features a set of watercolour trees for the background that were done in Soft Seafoam, Mint Macaron, Polished Pink, Just Jade, and Highland Heather ink. To create the watercolour effect, I added ink to the tree stamp and used a Water Painter to spread it around before stamping on Shimmery White cardstock. I coloured the animals in the stamp set with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut a deer and rabbit for this card. They are just the cutest images!

The second card was a slimline shape that had a colourful forest of stamped trees for the background. I used the same colours as the above card and this time added a deer that was cut with the Deer Builder Punch.

I also added subtle details to the card by die cutting a basic shape (Tailor Made Tags) from Vellum and then embossing with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing folder. I love how the vellum lets the background show through while the embossing adds some texture.

The Peaceful Deer Bundle is a beautiful set for holiday cards… and cards throughout the year.
