From Colouring to Greeting Card

Have you seen the gorgeous graphic design of the Pretty Medallion stamp from Stampin’ Up!? I have been wanting to use it ever since I got it a few months ago, but was stuck on what to do with it. Do I use it as a background stamp on coloured cardstock or do I colour it? I finally decided to leave it up to my 12 year old daughter, and have a look at the amazing idea she had…

The stamp went from this:

To this… with the use of the Stampin’ Blends:

She not only coloured the medallion stamp beautifully, but she gave me two different designs!!

I wanted to turn these into cards and had to make the most of these images, so I cut the rainbow medallion into 4 symmetrical pieces to make 4 cards.

I used a Soft Seafoam card base, Square Doily, and a simple stamp in Pear Pizzazz from the Wishing You Well stamp set to create a simple yet stunning card.

For the other image, I also cut it into 4 pieces, but this time fussy cut the edges and used two together on a Soft Seafoam card base. To add some interest to the background, I lightly stamped the Pretty Medallion in Soft Succulent and added a greeting in the same colour. I love how this one turned out!

Sometimes if you are stuck creatively, all you need is a little inspiration! Usually I get that inspiration from Instagram, but now I have learned to also turn to my crafty friends… and family!!

Where do you find your inspiration for card making? Take a chance and turn to a new source for some fresh ideas!!

I hope you enjoy a crafty week ahead!
