Last year I offered to create family albums month by month rather than waiting for clients to send me all their pictures at the end of the year.  This is how I have done my own family albums for the last 4 years and I have encouraged my clients to do the same.  It is hard at first to find the time and motivation to organized photos, but what is the point of taking all those pictures if they just sit on the memory card or computer?  I wanted to make photo organization as painless as possible, so in June I implemented a new file sharing system where clients were able to log in to the site and upload their photos at any time.  Each client had access to their own folder and I created subfolders for each month of the year.  Photos were then uploaded into the appropriate month’s folder, and, as easy as that, photos were organized.  On my end, I downloaded the photos to my computer and created that month’s 2-page spread for the photobook.  I have also encouraged clients to email me a list of important events, dates, or memories to include with the photos each month.  This small change for sharing photos has made such a huge impact on the photobook making process for clients, and for myself.  Thanks to Kitta for helping me work out the bugs and implement the same process to make photobooks for baby’s first year!

Starting in January, I will be offering a new monthly family album for 2013 called Photos of Us.

It will be a 10″ x 10″, 38 page photobook with custom cover.  New for this year, I will be offering the same book with an extra page each month for kids artwork.  My son is coming home with more and more art, that I have decided it would be great to feature his art evey month in the family photobook.

Each month will be a 2-page spread, with 5 extra spreads for vacations, friends, birthdays, Christmas, etc.

At the end of the year you will receive a printed photobook with all of your memories from 2013.  What a great way to show off all those photos!
