With just under 3 weeks to go until Valentine’s Day, it is not too early to start thinking about class cards for the kids. There are many options out in the stores for little cards, treat packets, and Valentine’s trinkets. But if you are looking to support a small, local Edmonton business, why not try some handmade cards for the class this year!
I have designed 3 sets of little cards (2″ x 2 3/4″) and each set consists of 4 folded cards.
The first set is a take on the popular candy conversation hearts, which I recently heard are not made anymore. I hope that is not true because they were my favourite Valentine candy.
The second set uses cute animal characters from the January Paper Pumpkin Kit from Stampin’ Up.
My 10 year old boy loves the chameleons in this set!
And the final set is designed to let your kids colour their own cards. These ones are cute for any age, but I think preschoolers would love the chance to help make cards for their friends.
These characters are from the Magical Day stamp set and are paired with Valentine’s sentiments. (Thanks to my 8 year old daughter for colouring the cards for me!)
These cards are great as little notes for the kids’ classmates, but many kids give little treats or trinkets out too. Well, simply attach the cards to the treat bag and you have a cute gift pack.
Or punch two holes in the bottom of the cards and attach a lollipop with a bit of string.
Anyway you decide to use these handmade Valentine’s Day cards, they will be original and thoughtful.
Each set of little cards is $3.00 (CDN) for the 4 cards. So, for example, if you need 24 cards for the class it will cost $18.00. Email me at lfedynak@gmail.com to order and please allow 2-3 days for pick up and at least one week for delivery by Canada Post. (An extra charge for delivery will be determined at time of ordering).
