When I first received and looked through the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue for 2019-2020, there were so many amazing new stamp sets, bundles, paper, and embellishments. But there was one stamp set bundle with coordinating dies that I knew would be my first purchase… Good Morning Magnolia.
The large magnolia flower stamp is incredible! There are so many possibilities for using this stamp on a card and I wanted to share three ways that I used it.
The stamped image measures almost 4″ x 4″ and is stunning when coloured. There are many examples on Pinterest of this flower coloured using the Stampin’ Blends, so I tried something different and used the watercolour pencils. I lightly coloured some areas and applied more colour where it was going to be darker. Then I blended the colours with the Blender Pen.
Even if you leave the magnolia uncoloured, the artistry and design of the stamp makes it a show stopper! I simply cut out a second stamped flower and popped it up to give it some dimension.
(Hint: By cutting up the greeting and leaving off the end few lines, I changed its intent from a “lean on me” sentiment to a more inspiring friendship sentiment.)
The next card used the large magnolia stamp as a background stamp embossed in white. The smaller magnolia bud was watercolored and designed to be the feature flower. This one was perfect as a wedding card!
There are so many possibilities with this stamp and die set and I can’t wait to explore some more. Be sure to follow me on Instagram @ellefedynak to see what else I make with this set!
