New Year, New Decade, New Birthday Cards

Now that the Christmas holidays are over and the kids are getting back to school, it is time to work on restocking card supplies. I spent the last two months making Christmas cards and paper crafts so my own card collection has become quite low.

The new Mini Catalogue is now available and the Sale-A-Bration promotion has begun with Stampin’ Up! and there are so many gorgeous sets to work with. But I needed some birthday cards whipped up quickly… so it was Paper Pumpkin to the rescue!!

The December 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit, Something For Everything, was exactly what I was looking for!

The kit came with enough card bases, envelopes, and supplies to make 12 cards, a Stampin’ Spot, and exclusive stamp set.

If you follow my blog regularly, then you know I do not settle for the number of cards a kit is supposed to make. I always try to make as many cards as possible leaving as few supplies left over as I can. This set did not disappoint as I was able to make 4 sets of 5 cards for a total of 20 cards!

The key to making the alternate designs for this kit was cutting up the card bases and using the paper as layers. I went with Whisper White card stock for all the card bases and kept the designs similar to the originals with just a few tweaks. I also chose sentiments from the stamp set that reflected celebrations and birthdays.

After trimming down the patterned fronts of the card bases, I was left with a lot of strips that could not be wasted!

I also cut out the remaining negatives from the gold stickers to use them up too! The gold was just too pretty to throw out.
