Hello and welcome to Birdwing Paper Designs! My name is Leah and I’m delighted to share a new project with all the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators and customers!
This is Part 2 of the 2020 Artisan Design Team Blog Hop featuring products from the Coordination Product Release. If you missed Part 1 of the Blog Hop, visit my blog post to read more about the Little Ladybug coordinating dies and hop along to see more amazing projects from the team!
All of the products in the Coordination Product Release (Dies and Designer Series Paper) coordinate with items from the January-July Mini Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration catalogue!
I had fun creating some new home decor using the Pleased As Punch DSP and the coordinating Heart Punch Pack.
I’ve had this precious framed photo in our front entry and a few years ago I dropped it and broke the glass. I couldn’t be bothered to find a new piece of glass for it, so I left it on the shelf as is. I used the photo of my kids taken 5 years ago as the inspiration to create a more colourful, personalized piece of home decor. (Photo credit: Roberta Gavigan – Baby Bee Photography, Edmonton AB)
I removed the matte and used the photo to create a framed 8″ x 10″ scrapbook page. Whisper White cardstock was used as the base with layers of Pleased As Punch DSP to frame the photo. Then I punched hearts from the DSP and the scalloped hearts from Vellum to create more layers on top of the 5″ x 7″ photo. I also used the Pearlized Doilies to add more interest to the background. Finally, a sentiment from Forever Lovely was embossed in white on Basic Black card stock, and Iridescent Sequins were added for a little sparkle. Since there was no glass in the frame, I didn’t need to worry about popping elements up and adding embellishments.
I think this new frame will add a lovely touch of spring colours to our home!
The Designer Series Paper used in this project is part of the Coordination Product Release that will be available to for a limited time to all Stampin’ Up! customers… February 4 – March 31, 2020. The set of 2 heart punches can be found in the January-June Mini Catalogue.
I hope you were inspired to create something with this beautiful paper and useful punches.

You’re kids are so cute! Love the layout you made with the hearts. Great idea to frame it.

It’s so much nicer to frame a layout and see it all the time, rather than hide it away in a book!
