The new 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue from Stampin’ Up! has several new product suites that feature gorgeous floral stamps, die cuts, papers, and embellishments: Flowers For Every Season, Peony Garden, Forever Greenery, Ornate Garden, and Artistry Blooms. But… not to be overlooked is a new bundle, Blossoms in Bloom with a beautiful stamp set and coordinating dies, Many Layered Blossoms.

The two main dies in this bundle are large, even large enough to cover the front of a card. It was the perfect size to try a stencilling technique and make 2 cards with 1 die cut.

I cut out the thinner floral outline from Whisper White cardstock and laid it on the front of the second card. Using sponge daubers, I sponged Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana on the outline and background paper until both were fully coloured.

Now I had a colourful stencilled background and a beautiful die cut to create a focal point on a card base. To the stencilled card I added a simple white embossed “Happy Birthday” on black cardstock and a few embellishments to finish it off.

The coloured die cut was stapled to a textured background and the same sentiment and embellishments were added as the first card.

I love it when one technique produces two cards – it’s a 2 for 1!! What a time saver, especially when you need to send off two birthday cards!
