Welcome to Birdwing Paper Designs! I’m Leah from Edmonton, Alberta and this is the first Artisan monthly project for 2021.

There are a few new things going on with the Artisan Design Team this year that you may notice with this blog post. The biggest change is that we are no longer doing a blog hop. We have a large team this year with 21 designers and it was decided that that is just too long of a blog hop to stroll through! But… our projects can still be found on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook Page posted in Photos – Albums!

The second big change is that we are not all working with the same products. Each month we will be showcasing one of three different bundles or suites so you get to see more variety of products each month! For this first month, I had the opportunity to play around with the Forever & Always Bundle.

The first card combined the Forever & Always Stamp Set, Always Dies, and the True Love Designer Series Paper (DSP).

The DSP is in black and white and is perfect for colouring with Stampin’ Blends. I decided to do something different and coloured the background a rich green (Dark Shaded Spruce) while keeping the flowers neutral with Light Crumb Cake and Smoky Slate.

I added a couple of Vellum circles and a sentiment die cut with the Always dies. The dies also came with tiny flowers which look great when two are combined and a gold Metallic Pearl added in the centre.

The second card used the same Forever & Always Bundle, but this time it was paired with the beautiful Love You Always Specialty DSP.

I used the Sahara Sand version of the paper as a backdrop for the gorgeous stamped flowers. Once again I went with neutral colours for the flowers but this time the leaves gave the pop of green. I went with a simple die cut sentiment “Always” that was layered with white cardstock on Vellum. And once again, the card was embellished with a sprinkling of gold Metallic Pearls.
