Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team – Pansy Petals Suite

Hello!! I’m Leah from Edmonton, Alberta and welcome to Birdwing Paper Designs! I am a member of Stampin’ Up!’s Artisan Design Team for 2021 and each month we showcase projects using the latest products from Stampin’ Up!. This month, we are using new products from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue: Flowers Of Friendship Bundle, Pansy Petals Suite, and Colour And Contour Bundle.

I was excited to work with the Pansy Petals Suite because, as you may know, I love flowers and I love to garden! Pansies are one of the first flowers that are brought into to the garden centres here in Alberta because they are quite tolerant of our crazy spring weather. (We had sunny 25 C weather on Sunday and then snow by Tuesday!!) So before I start planting real pansies, here are a few paper versions for you!

My inspiration for these lovely pansy cards was the garden, of course! For the first card, I wanted to create a dense cluster of flowers like you would see in a hanging basket in the middle of sumer. I fussy cut several flowers and leaves from the Pansy Petals DSP and layered them on a green ombre (Soft Seafoam to Evening Evergreen) background. To add more colour, I also added stamped and water blended pansies to the foreground. The flower bouquet was framed with two layers of Rectangle Dies and finished off with super cute Bumblebee Trinkets.

I love the gorgeous colours and patterns of the Pansy Petals DSP, so for the second card I created a thick frame with one of the flowery designs. This time I only added a few pansies and stamped the greeting right on the ombre background. And, of course, I had to add more of those gold bees!

Both cards feature stamped pansies on Shimmery White card stock, and I softened the look of the flowers by blending with a Water Painter.

If you love flowers as much as I do, you will want to add this gorgeous suite to your craft collections!! If you would like to purchase any of the products used in this post, please visit my Stampin’ Up! Store to order or contact me for more info.

Happy gardening

Leah
