Beginning July 1, 2021 Stampin’ Up! is having a sale on Designer Series Paper (DSP) with 15% of select paper. One of the paper packs on sale is the new and colourful Sweet Symmetry DSP. It has a multicolour side and a monochromatic side that truly covers all the colours of the rainbow.

I was inspired by this paper to create a 3D rainbow by curling strips of the DSP and arranging in an arch. Here are a few steps to show how I made this card:

Step 1: Prepare the sky background by lightly blending Balmy Blue on a 5″ x 3 3/4″ Basic White card stock. I also layered another piece of Bumblebee coloured DSP on the Misty Moonlight card base.

Step 2: Die cut the clouds with the Basic Borders Dies and add the sentiment from Simply Succulents in Misty Moonlight. One cloud will be used on the background with the other two making up the foreground.

Step 3: Choose 5 colours from the Sweet Symmetry DSP and cut strips measuring 1/4″ x 12″. Using a small, wooden skewer, roll the strips of paper to create a curl of paper.

Step 4: Attach the paper curls to the background using Glue Dots. Start with the blue inside paper first and work outward ensuring the ends will be covered by the second set of clouds. The ends can trimmed nicely or left as is since it will be hidden anyways.

Step 5: Add the second layer of clouds using Foam Adhesive Strips. They are a bit thicker than Dimensionals and will pop the clouds over the 3D rainbow better.

Step 6: Finish off the card with silver, epoxy raindrops from the Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials.
