Now that summer has arrived to Alberta, I am finding it difficult to be in my basement craft space. I would rather be out enjoying the beautiful weather with the kids or puttering in the garden. Thankfully the Paper Pumpkin Kits from Stampin’ Up! are easy to assemble so I only spent a few hours working on the latest one (Pick of the Crop) before heading back outside!

See the video below to learn how to put the kit together:
The card bases provided with the kit were so pretty that I couldn’t resist cutting them apart to use for extra cards. There were also lots of extra pre-cut images, so it was easy to make 20 cards instead of just 9!

I loved the cute flower cart and decided to put it on a simple pink (Blushing Bride) background so it would be the star of the card. I go through a lot of birthday cards, so I used a birthday greeting and added a few embellishments.

I did the same thing with the purple flowers – I thought they deserved a card all to themselves and put them on a simple Soft Succulent green background. The jewels I added were from a retired 2021 collection, Eden’s Garden, and worked perfectly for this card.

I wasn’t a big fan of the loaves of bread until I remembered I had a stamp set from the Dec 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Loads of Pun, that had a great pun stamp, “I loaf you”. I only had 3 striped backgrounds, but 6 images of bread that I could use, so l made my own striped background using the other half of the blue card base and a Starry Sky Stampin’ Blend. The card on the left was made with the kit elements, and the one on the right was made with the extra bread and supplies from my stash.

I made the fruit basket according to the instructions provided and didn’t change anything to it except put the front of the card on a white card base.

And finally, the last card had the prettiest background image that I didn’t want to cover it up too much. I CASEd a card from @stampinpretty because I was stuck for a good idea and I loved how she used the white embossed “Hello” greeting on the background.
