Moving Forward

I will always remember the day my business idea was born: I was working at the cancer hospital and I said to one of my coworkers, “I wish I could spend all day scrapbooking instead of being here.” I daydreamed the rest of the day trying to figure out how to make that possible. Two weeks later I had a business license and so many ideas in my head it made me giddy! I had started down a new, exciting path that changed my life.

Today I celebrate as Birdwing Paper Designs has its two year anniversary. To date, I have created 67 blog posts, 28 photobooks, 12 greeting card designs, 6 photocard designs, and have been published in 4 magazines.  I think back to that day my business was born often, especially now that I no longer work at the hospital, because my wish is coming true – I am trying really hard to make it come true!  I have found something that I love to do and, everyday, I feel inspired in my creative work and my life at home.

As I move forward to the third year I would like to focus on learning and bringing my work to a new creative level.  I have already signed up for my first online course which begins in two weeks and is all about typography, fonts, and creating titles.  I am so excited to take this course and something that makes me this excited must be the best path to go down!  If you follow my Pinterest boards you may have noticed more typography related pins as I get prepared to start this new course.  I will be posting the projects here as I go, so stay tuned for the updates.

Thank you to everyone who reads my blogs, pins my work, and writes great comments.  You inspire me to create, learn, and live my daydreams.
