Even though we still have snow in Edmonton, and probably will for another 2 months, March is the month when Albertans start dreaming about spring!  I know I am already thinking about what to plant in my garden this year and registering the kids for outdoor soccer.

So to kick off spring for everyone else who live in warmer climates, here is the latest Hello 2014 digital kit that is available for FREE on BWPD Facebook page.  (Note: This digital kit only available until May 31, 2014.)

I carried through the same colour scheme as the winter kit so they can be used together if you were lucky enough to download the winter edition when it was available.  I had a lot fun designing this kit, especially the rain drops and the umbrella.  It is so nice when a picture in your head turns out just how you wanted it to!

Since I didn’t have any current spring-like photos to use in a layout, I decided to stay true to March in Alberta and create another winter page.

The stitching on this page was my first crack at designing the sewn-on look.  I am a bit of a perfectionist and wasn’t 100% confident that the stitches and thread look good up close so I decided not to include it in this spring kit.  It may be available in a future free kit.

A new digital scrapbook technique I learned how to do for this layout is the cut out arrows that look like I punched the shapes from the vellum-like paper.  This is my new favourite technique that I learned here and is as easy as adding an inner shadow to a shape and tweaking it to look just right.  So simple, yet looks so hard!!
