Spring/summer has finally arrived in Alberta and the designs in the newest edition of the Hello 2014 digital kits were inspired by my two favourite things about summer: sunshine and flowers.   There are fun flowers for layering and a happy sun to brighten up any layout.  This kit features my first attempt at extracting a flower (see previous post) and I thought the daisy was a great compliment to the rest of the summery elements!  It is also a season filled with celebrations so there are several embellishments included for birthdays, anniversaries, and Father’s Day.

There are designs in every kit I create that I am really proud of and I think to myself, “I can’t believe I made that!”  In this new summer edition, my favourite element is the 4×6 happy birthday card.  I love how it turned out and couldn’t wait to use it on a birthday layout with my little man who just turned six last week.

Another favourite design is the yellow circle paper as seen in the background of the layout below.  The concentric circles were created by accident when I was trying to figure out how to make a star burst pattern!  Some of the best ideas come from making mistakes!!
