Recolouring Ribbon – Part 2

Last week I shared a post on how to up-cycle white grosgrain ribbon and turn it into colourful rainbow ribbon.

This week I wanted to continue on the same road of recolouring grosgrain ribbon with sponge daubers and ink, but this time using coloured ribbon. I had several rolls of Stampin’ Up! ribbon in outdated colours like Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Bashful Blue, and Pretty in Pink.  They didn’t coordinate with any of the current colours so I never used them – until now!

Since the grosgrain ribbons I have are lighter colours, I used a sponge dauber to apply a darker, more current colour.  In the photo above, I used Pacific Point to cover up the Bashful Blue.  Then using colours in the same Brights family, I recoloured the remaining ribbons in Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, and Granny Apple Green.

It only took a minute to freshen up the colour and it made a huge difference.  Now I have so many reasons to use this grosgrain ribbon!

Are you inspired to go through your ribbon stash and start recolouring?

Let me know what you come up with!!
