The end of the school year always holds bittersweet feelings for me – I am glad we don’t have to do the morning school routine and the kids are super excited to not have homework anymore, but on the other hand there will be 9 weeks of, “I’m bored” and “What are we doing today?” It is also at this time of year when I appreciate that the teachers have had to deal with my kids for the last 10 months!!
For this reason, those teachers deserve a really big Thank You and a really big Thank You card!!
Quite often teachers receive a big gift at the end of the year from the whole class and then the kids all sign a card. This image, 25+ kids finding room to write their thank yous, was what inspired these cards I created just for teachers!
The above cards look like regular cards, except they are almost twice the size of my regular handmade cards at 5 1/2″ x 7 3/4″. The image below shows the size difference:
With the larger size, there is so much more room for autographs, farewells, and thanks on the inside. I have also added an extra layer of cardstock on the front so the writing won’t show through.
Each card was hand stamped, cut, and designed by Birdwing Paper Designs using products from Stampin’ Up!. I love how these pencils turned out using kraft paper, cardstock, silver paper and stamps from the Crazy About You set.
The next card was created using ink (Poppy Parade, Real Red, Granny Apple Green, Mossy Meadow, Early Espresso) to watercolour a bright red apple.
The apple gave a nice pop of colour on this teacher inspired Thank You card!
I make a lot of floral cards, so I challenged myself to not use any flowers for these teacher cards! I tried to keep them bright, colourful, and fun like this next Gold Star card. (Colours used are Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, and Coastal Cabana.)
Because these cards over oversized, they come with a specialty clear envelope that will show off the card and help keep them protected.
These amazing, handcrafted Thank You cards are available now for only $9 CDN each. To order a card (or two.. or three), email me lfedynak@gmail.com or leave a comment below.
Teachers are amazing, kind, patient, and hardworking professionals!
Thank you for all you do for our kids!!
