DIY Beachscape

In last week’s post I used the Paper Pumpkin kit, A Little Smile (June 2019), from Stampin’ Up! to create cards for beginner, moderate, and advanced level paper crafters.

The kit came with so much vellum, paper, and glitter elements that even after making 16 cards, there were still lots of leftovers!  I didn’t want to make more cards, so I decided to make something for the house… a beachscape in a terrarium!

It was a quick project that only took 10 minutes to put together.  One of the kids ran to the playground to get me some sand for the bottom.  I glued two palm trees to a paper base so it would stand nicely in the sand.  By using two trees and separating them with a foam dot, it gave the tree more depth and dimension.

Then I added a two small sea shells we collected a few years ago when visiting the ocean, a few pearl beads from my bead collection, and finally more elements from the Paper Pumpkin kit.

It was so easy to make something so cute!  Now I need to find a spot on our bookshelf for this vignette that will remind us of days spent at the beach!
