Every spring, Stampin’ Up! introduces five new In Colors with the new catalogue and those colours are then available for two years. This years colours (2019-2021) are a great combination of soft and bold: Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile, Purple Posy, Pretty Peacock.
In this post, I wanted to show how I coordinated the these pretty new colours with colours from the current collection.
If you follow this blog regularly then you know that I love to watercolour and I love using the watercolour pencils! Well… also in this year’s new catalogue are a new assortment of watercolour pencils!
I am so glad they added 10 new colours and I used some of them on the cards below.
Each card shown was stamped with the large magnolia stamp from Good Morning Magnolia (a favorite of mine) using VersaMark and then embossed in white to pop the image from the background In Color paper.
The embossed image was coloured with a watercolour pencil that was darker than the background colour and then blended softly with the Blender Pen.
This Purple Posy paper was paired with the new Gorgeous Grape pencil and looked so soft and elegant.
Seaside Spray was meant to be paired with Pacific Point – two beautiful ocean colours!
Peacock Posy is a gorgeous, dark teal colour and when trying to pair it with a watercolour pencil, the new Night of Navy was the obvious choice!
The next card was pretty and pink with Melon Mambo highlighting the In Color paper, Rococo Rose.
All of the sentiment stamps showcased on these cards are from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set. The sentiments shown on the previous two cards are actually from one stamp, just cut in half. I prefer to use this stamp as two separate greetings!
And finally, the last colour, Terracotta Tile, is a great fall colour that coordinated well with the darker Real Red. I think I will save this Thank You card for Thanksgiving!
These colours coordinate beautifully with the current colour collection and definitely need to be added to your stash if they aren’t already!!
