You may have seen all the wonderful sneak peaks about the new Butterfly Bouquet that Stampin’ Up! is releasing early from their upcoming 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. Up until March 1 it was only available to Demonstrators, but now it is available to all customers too!!

The Butterfly Bouquet consists of the Butterfly Brilliance Stamps, Brilliant Wings Dies, Butterfly Bijou DSP, and Natural Touch Specialty Paper. These products are now available for purchase at my Stampin’ Up! store!

Last month I created a colourful butterfly card with envelope using this set (see post here) and this month I would love to share the coordinating party decor I made.

The bright, bold colours I chose (Blushing Bride, Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry, Magenta Madness, Bermuda Bay, So Saffron) had me dreaming about a playful girl’s birthday party. I decided to make some fun butterfly wands that could be used as cake toppers or party gifts.

I created two different types of butterfly wands using wooden skewers, a large and small one. Do you remember the leftover cutout butterflies from the card? Well, I used them as a bottom layer under the detailed butterfly die cuts.

The smaller wands used the small layered butterflies with a butterfly die cut circle on top and white, flowing ribbons on the bottom.

The larger wands used the big butterflies with a stamped, stitched circle on top. They were also decorated with a tiny butterfly (that was die cut from the circles above – no waste here!!), birthday greeting, and curly Natural Touch Specialty Paper. To make the paper curls, the paper was cut into 1/2″ strips and pulled between a bone folder and thumb to give loose curls. To make the curls tighter, I then wound the paper around a wooden skewer. It added such a whimsical look to the wand!
