I will be honest with you… the Well Suited Suite from Stampin’ Up! was not at the top of my list of must have collections from the January-June Mini Catalogue. It just wasn’t my style. I ended up getting it anyways because I loved the Father’s Day greetings in the Handsomely Suited stamp set and I needed to add some masculine paper to my collection (Well Suited DSP).
When I opened the Suit & Tie Dies, I stared at it for 5 minutes and then… ideas just started to flow! There were so many geometric shapes that could be created with these dies. I was drawn to the lapel die and thought it would make a great starburst pattern and the centre of the die made beautifully shaped triangles.

Here are some of the products used to make the two cards:

The first card showcased a beautiful starburst pattern that was easy to make with the lapel die. The die was used to cut out two of each colour of cardstock (Bumblebee, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Misty Moonlight) and made 8 lapel shapes and 8 triangle pieces. The lapel shapes were cut in half and arranged with alternating colours to create a starburst. The center points were then adhered to a stitched circle base.
The starburst was glued to a Basic White background ensuring the notches of the lapel were not on the card and the edges were trimmed. Another stitched circle cut from Well Suited DSP was used to cover the center of the starburst. The card was then finished off with a white embossed birthday sentiment on Bumblebee cardstock, white resin hearts, and Misty Moonlight/Silver Baker’s Twine from Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Pack.

The triangles from the center of the lapel die were used to create a second card. Three of the cardstock triangles and one extra Well Suited DSP triangle were arranged on a Basic White background to create a simple, but eye-catching pattern. A Father’s Day greeting was stamped in Basic Gray and the same embellishments were used as the first card.

I hope this unique way of using the Suit & Tie Dies inspires you to take a fresh look at all your dies and try something new with them!
Happy crafting!!
Leah
