Hi there! I’m Leah and welcome to Birdwing Paper Designs!! This past weekend, Stampin’ Up! announced the new 2022 Artisan Design Team and I am so thrilled to be back on the team for a third year!! I love sharing my ideas and techniques with the paper crafting community and I am so grateful for all the support I receive back!!
As a member of the Artisan Design Team, we create a few different projects for Stampin’ Up!:
- Corporate Posts that are found on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook Page – I just had one post last Thursday about using Watercolour Pencils with the Nuts & Bolts stamp set
- Tips & Techniques that post to the Stampin’ Up! Instagram Page
- Monthly Projects that are also found on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook Page
Today I am sharing a project created for the first of our Monthly projects using the Sweet Talk Collection from the new January – June 2022 Mini Catalogue.
For this Valentine’s Day inspired project, I made a colourful card, and an extra large treat box!
The card features a background with rows of die cut hearts. Are you wondering how I got all those hearts so straight and perfectly spaced?
The trick is to use the row of hearts die from Sweet Hearts Dies, and cut out 6 rows of them from Basic White card stock. I just eye-balled the vertical spacing as I cut the rows out and it worked fairly well. Then, cut out another set of hearts in six different colours. I used the Sweet Talk DSP colours as inspiration and made a rainbow of colour with Highland Heather, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Blushing Bride, and Real Red. I used the empty rows of hearts as a template to glue the coloured hearts to another piece of white card stock.
This collection features on of my favourite new embellishments: Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels. I am using these rhinestones on everything!!
The Sweet Talk Collection also includes the Sweet Little Boxes that are small treat boxes (3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ x 5/8″). The boxes are small, but if you join two together they are big enough to cover a chocolate bar.
I covered two boxes in the striped DSP and cut off the small side flaps. The bigger flap tucks into the other box nicely and holds the candy bar cover securely. I also added a purple band to hide the seal and attached a tiny die cut envelope to a tag.
The tiny envelope is hiding a surprise as well… confetti hearts that spill out revealing a greeting inside!
The Sweet Talk Collection has everything you need to make beautiful Valentine’s Day cards and treat packets. To see more inspiration with this collection, be sure to visit the Stampin’ Up! Facebook Page and see what the other designers have created!
