One of my favourite embossing tools from Stampin’ Up! is the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. The delicate floral designs make for a stunning background when embossed in cardstock, but I wanted to try something different and add watercolours to it.

I put a piece of 4″ x 5.25″ Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper in the embossing folder and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to get the embossed background.
I added a few drops of Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Bumblebee, and Pear Pizzazz ink (from a refill bottle) on to a clear block and started adding colour to the embossed background. It is a type of no-line watercolouring where I use the embossed lines as a guide instead of a lightly stamped image.

It took my quite a while to finish painting the whole background and once it was done it kind of reminded me of a couch pattern we had growing up!! 😂😂 It was too late to change the colours, so I just learned to love it!!
I finished it off with a spring greeting (Timeless Tulips stamp set) embossed in white on gold metallic paper, ribbon, and Opal Rounds.

Have you tried this technique before? I would love to see this done with some of the other embossing folders like the Seashells or Dandelions or Evergreen Forest!
Thankfully the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder is carrying over to the new 2022-23 Annual Catalogue and I get to play with it for another year!
